Terms of Service
Effective date: 17 October 2026
These terms apply when you add Kaveh to a server, use its commands, or sign in to its dashboard or website. By doing any of those you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Kaveh. If you manage a server, you're also agreeing for that server.
Kaveh is a Discord bot made and run by an independent developer ("we", "the developer").
1. Who can use Kaveh
- You must follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, including its minimum age.
- To add Kaveh to a server you need the Manage Server permission there. You're responsible for what Kaveh does in a server you add it to.
- You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, or have a parent or guardian agree.
2. What Kaveh is
Kaveh provides moderation, modmail, music, chat, logging and community tools for Discord servers, a web dashboard and documentation. It is offered free of charge, as is, and may change, break or stop at any time. Features may be added, changed or removed without notice.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Kaveh to:
- break the law, or Discord's rules;
- harass, threaten, stalk or exploit anyone, or share content that is illegal or harmful (including sexual content involving minors, which is reported to the authorities);
- spam, raid, scam, phish, or distribute malware;
- try to break, overload, reverse-engineer for abuse, or get around the limits and protections of Kaveh, its dashboard or its hosting;
- access data that isn't yours, or use someone else's account or server without permission;
- sell, resell or repackage access to Kaveh, or use it to build a competing service from its data;
- use the chat feature to produce content that targets people or is unsafe. It is a friendly companion with a safety filter, not a source of advice.
4. Server owners and staff
If you configure Kaveh for a server you are responsible for:
- how you use moderation, modmail, logging, leveling and AI chat there, including the decisions you make about members;
- telling your members what is recorded (for example that modmail conversations are kept and that moderation actions are logged), and complying with the laws that apply to you and your members;
- who you give moderator and admin access to. Kaveh trusts the roles you set up.
The records you create (cases, notes, modmail conversations and so on) are your server's records. You can delete them. If you remove Kaveh, they are deleted after 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Members
- Server staff can see what you send through modmail, and may keep it. Don't send anything you aren't happy for them to see.
- What you tell Kaveh's chat is kept for 30 days to hold the conversation. Don't share secrets, passwords or sensitive personal details with it.
- You can see and delete your own data with
/privacy exportand/privacy delete.
6. Content and ownership
- You keep ownership of the content you create. By sending it to Kaveh you allow it to be stored, processed and shown to the extent needed to provide the features you or your server use.
- Kaveh's code, name, artwork and documentation belong to the developer or their licensors. The project's source code is available under the license in its repository; those terms apply to the code.
- Music is played from third-party services. You are responsible for what you play and for following the rules of those services and any rights in the music. Kaveh does not host or own it.
7. Third-party services
Kaveh depends on Discord, Cloudflare, music and lookup services, and AI models. Their availability and rules are outside our control. See the Privacy Policy for which services receive what.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what data Kaveh uses. Permissions and intents explains the Discord permissions it requests.
9. Availability and changes to Kaveh
Kaveh is run by one person on limited hardware. It can be offline, slow, restarted or updated without warning, and data can be lost despite backups. Don't rely on it for anything where an outage would cause serious harm, and keep your own records of anything important.
10. Ending use
- You can stop at any time by removing Kaveh from your server. Your server's data is deleted after 30 days.
- We may restrict, suspend or remove Kaveh from a server or user, with or without notice, if these terms are broken, to protect people, or because Kaveh is shutting down.
11. No warranty
Kaveh is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Moderation tools, the strike ladder and automod can make mistakes; you are responsible for reviewing their effects. AI replies can be wrong or inappropriate.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, members or goodwill, arising from your use of Kaveh. Where the law doesn't allow a limit, our total liability is limited to the smallest amount it permits, and nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and for significant changes we will say so in the documentation or to server owners. If you keep using Kaveh after a change, you accept it. If you don't agree, stop using Kaveh.
