Troubleshooting

Find your symptom below. Each section says what to check first and what usually fixes it. Problems on Kaveh's side are marked, and Getting help tells you how to report them.

Slash commands are missing

• Wait a minute after adding Kaveh. Discord can be slow to show new commands.
• Check that Kaveh was added with the applications.commands permission. If it wasn't, add it again with the invite link.
• If they still don't show after a few minutes, report it. The developer can force a refresh.

"The application did not respond"

Discord shows this when the bot doesn't answer within about three seconds. If you see it, Kaveh itself is most likely offline, restarting or overloaded. Wait a minute and try again, and report it if it keeps happening.

If you see "An unexpected error occurred while running this command", the command hit a bug. Please report which command you used and roughly when.

Setup says a channel or role is missing

Run /setup status verify:true. It points at anything that was deleted. Run the matching /setup command again and pick a replacement. Renaming channels is fine, because Kaveh tracks them by ID, not by name.

Setup stopped halfway

Nothing is lost: each part is saved as it finishes. Run /setup run again and choose Resume. If it stopped on a permission, give Kaveh that permission (usually Manage Roles or Manage Channels) and resume.

Logs aren't showing up

1. Run /logging status to see which channel each kind uses.
2. Make sure Kaveh can view and send messages in the log channel.
3. Check that the kind is switched on with /logging events.
4. Send a test with /logging test.

Modmail

• No channel was created. The category must exist, and Kaveh needs Manage Channels and Manage Permissions there.
• The member didn't get a reply. Their direct messages may be closed. Kaveh warns in the conversation when that happens.
• A conversation link asks me to sign in. That's on purpose. You need to be a moderator or higher in that server.
• A picture is broken in an old conversation. Conversations from before pictures were saved may have lost images that Discord has since removed. New conversations keep theirs.
• A reply written in the dashboard says "Not sent". The note underneath says why, for example that the member has direct messages closed or the conversation was closed.

Music

What happens	Likely cause
Kaveh joins but there's no sound	Missing Connect or Speak permission in that channel
"Found it" but nothing plays	YouTube is blocking requests for now. This is on Kaveh's side, so report it if it lasts more than a few hours
Nothing is found	Try another search or a SoundCloud link. If nothing works, the music service may be down
The sound stutters	Network pressure. Try again, and report it if it's constant
Kaveh left on its own	It leaves 2 minutes after the last listener goes and 5 minutes after the queue ends

SoundCloud links make a handy test: if they play and YouTube doesn't, the problem is YouTube access, not your server.

Chat doesn't answer

Run /chat status. If it says the backend can't be reached, Kaveh's chat service is down or restarting. That's on Kaveh's side. Try again later, and report it if it lasts.

Levels aren't going up

Levels are off until you switch them on (/level toggle, or Leveling in the dashboard). Also check that the module isn't switched off in Overview. Messages that are too short or sent too soon after the last one earn nothing. /level config shows the current numbers.

The dashboard

• It sent me to the home page with an error after signing in. The sign-in expired. Open the dashboard again to start over.
• A page says it couldn't load, and I can't save. Saving is blocked until it loads, so nothing gets overwritten by blanks. Refresh. If it keeps failing, Kaveh is probably restarting.
• My server isn't listed. You need Manage Server there, and Kaveh must be in the server.
• "Too many requests". The dashboard allows about 120 requests a minute per person. Wait a moment and try again.
