What Kaveh doesn't do yet ​

No project is finished. This page lists what Kaveh doesn't do well yet, checked against the code, so you can plan around it. If something here blocks you, tell the developer. Most of it can be fixed.

Setup ​

  • The guided setup covers moderation, logging, automod, modmail, levels, welcome, suggestions, starboard and the language. Music and the chat room are set up separately (/setup chatroom, and the dashboard).
  • The recommended setup uses one log channel. For separate channels, choose Customize or run /setup logging.
  • Running setup again reuses roles and channels that have the standard names (Moderator, Admin, #server-logs, #welcome and so on). If you renamed them, it creates new ones, so pick yours under Customize.

Moderation ​

  • Blocked terms match anywhere inside a message, with no word boundaries, so short terms cause false positives.
  • Automod can delete messages and add strikes. It can't hold a message back for review.
  • Case history is per server, and moderators can edit or remove cases.

Modmail ​

  • Auto-close only closes a conversation after staff have replied last. A conversation nobody answered is never closed automatically.
  • Blocks never expire. Remove them by hand.
  • Team statistics don't show response times per moderator for older conversations.
  • Conversations that were already open before the message log was added have an incomplete early history.
  • Files are copied to Kaveh's storage (up to 25 MB a file and 200 MB a conversation). They're deleted with the server's data, not when a single transcript is.

Levels ​

  • Voice XP (off by default) is a flat amount per minute. It doesn't check whether someone is actually speaking, so a quiet call still earns XP for everyone in it who isn't deafened.
  • Reward roles are given when a level is reached. /xp backfill catches up members who were already past it, but nothing re-checks automatically.
  • Levels and level-up announcements are off until an admin switches them on.
  • Your profile on the website only shows servers where you've earned levels.

Music ​

  • Playback depends on YouTube. When YouTube changes or blocks requests, playback can break until the developer updates Kaveh.
  • Spotify and Apple Music links are turned into searches, so you may not get the exact recording.

Chat ​

  • Chat depends on Kaveh's AI service. While it's down, chat commands say so.
  • The safety filter does its best but isn't perfect.
  • Chat history is kept for 30 days, then deleted.

Dashboard and the rest ​

  • Kaveh speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish and French. Some newer messages and the new dashboard are English only.
  • Kaveh is run by one person, and very large servers (tens of thousands of members) haven't been tested.
  • The old k$ text commands are gone. Every command is a slash command.
