Talking to staff

This page is for members. If you need to tell a server's moderators something privately, you can message Kaveh and they'll reply to you, without anyone else seeing it.

Send a message

  1. Open a direct message with Kaveh (click Kaveh's name in the server's member list, then Message).
  2. Write what you want staff to know. Pictures are fine.
  3. If Kaveh is in more than one server that uses modmail, it asks which server your message is for. Pick one.

Staff get your message in a private channel and answer through Kaveh. You'll see their replies as a card with their name and role (or just "Staff", if they choose to answer anonymously).

Good to know

  • You can have one open conversation at a time. When staff close it, your next message starts a new one.
  • Only staff of that server can see it. Their internal discussion is private and is never sent to you.
  • Messages are kept as a record. Staff can read the conversation later, including pictures. Pictures and files you send are stored so the record stays complete. The Privacy Policy explains what is kept and for how long.
  • Quiet conversations may close on their own. If you haven't replied for a while after staff answered, Kaveh may close it, and warns you first. Writing again keeps it open or starts a new one.
  • Staff can stop a conversation. If a server blocks you from modmail, Kaveh tells you only that you can't start a conversation right now.
  • Delete your data. Use /privacy in a server to see what Kaveh holds about you and ask for it to be erased.

If it doesn't work

  • Kaveh needs to share a server with you, and that server needs modmail turned on.
  • Check that you allow direct messages from server members. Otherwise staff replies can't reach you, and they'll see a warning that the message wasn't delivered.
